چکیده
Context. The ESPRESSO spectrograph is a new powerful tool developed to detect and characterize extrasolar planets. Its design allows an unprecedented radial velocity precision (down few tens of cm s −1 ) long-term thermomechanical stability. Aims. We present the first stand-alone detection planet by blind search using ESPRESSO; our aim show power instrument in characterizing planetary signals at different periodicities long observing time spans. Methods. used 41 measurements HD 22496 obtained within span 895 days with median photon noise 18 . A analysis was performed test presence planets system account for stellar activity this K5-K7 main-sequence star. For benchmarking comparison, we attempted 43 archive HARPS work compare results yielded two datasets. also four TESS sectors transits. Results. find variations compatible close-in orbital period P = 5.09071 ± 0.00026 when simultaneously accounting effects on longer timescales ( rot 34.99 −0.53 +0.58 days). physical properties minimum mass 5.57 −0.68 +0.73 M ⊕ , right dichotomic regime between rocky gaseous Although not transiting according data, if aligned spin axis, absolute must be below 16 no significant evidence additional data semi-amplitudes above 56 95% confidence. Conclusions. With modest set measurements, capable detecting low-mass constraining habitable zone K dwarfs down rocky-mass regime.

HD 80606 b , a planet on an extremely elongated orbit ⋆
We report the detection of a planetary companion orbiting the solar-type star HD80606, the brighter component of a wide binary with a projected separation of about 2000 AU. Using high-signal spectroscopic observations of the two components of the visual binary, we show that they are nearly identical. The planet has an orbital period of 111.8 days and a minimum mass of 3.9 MJup. With e =0.927, t...
متن کاملWas the IDIIOM the First Stand-Alone CAD Platform?
This article recounts the development of a stand-alone CAD platform, the IDIIOM. The IDIIOM was developed during the mid-1960s at Information Displays, Inc. (IDI), then in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. According to its creators, the IDIIOM was the first general-purpose design workstation, the first commercial CADD platform, and the first software drafting package to operate on its own computer without commu...
متن کاملPublication of stand-alone single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) discovery data.
In the recent past, several publications have appeared in Drug Metabolism and Disposition that described the results of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) discovery projects. The publications were limited to only this aspect of the science and failed to include any studies that extended beyond the discovery phase. No attempt was made to elucidate the possible functional significance of the id...
متن کاملNo planet for HD 166435
The G0V star HD 166435 has been observed by the fiber-fed spectrograph ELODIE as one of the targets in the large extra-solar planet survey that we are conducting at the Observatory of Haute-Provence. We detected coherent, low-amplitude, radial-velocity variations with a period of 3.7987 days, suggesting a possible close-in planetary companion. Subsequently, we initiated a series of high-precisi...
متن کاملDiscovery and spectroscopy of the young jovian planet 51 Eri b with the Gemini Planet Imager.
Directly detecting thermal emission from young extrasolar planets allows measurement of their atmospheric compositions and luminosities, which are influenced by their formation mechanisms. Using the Gemini Planet Imager, we discovered a planet orbiting the ~20-million-year-old star 51 Eridani at a projected separation of 13 astronomical units. Near-infrared observations show a spectrum with str...
